I Think Yous Retrieve Too Much of Me (stylised every bit i think yous think as well much of me ) is the second EP by Irish musician EDEN, released on xix Baronial 2016 through his own label MCMXCV and distributed past Astralwerks. The EP was recorded and produced in Dublin and contains seven tracks spanning approximately 27 minutes.[1] i think you think besides much of me is the first of Ng'southward works to be released on physical media, with two 12-inch vinyl formats, clear red and clear being made bachelor on his ain shop, a articulate bluish version being produced for general sale,[2] and on Compact Cassette.

The EP debuted at No. 43 on the Irish gaelic Albums Chart, becoming Ng's first charting album.[3] The EP likewise charted in Australia, the Great britain, and the United states.

Background [edit]

The EP was announced afterward the conclusion of Ng'south Cease Credits tour and release of his cover single "Hey Ya". As with his previous songs, the entirety of the EP was written and produced by himself.[ane] During production, he created three different versions of "Drugs" and two versions of "Stone + Roll". Past dissimilarity, "And" was written in "a day or ii" and became one of the fastest songs he produced.[four] The songs drew on a combination of past experiences.[4]

The singles "Sexual activity" and "Drugs" were released on x June and 14 July 2016 respectively, with the former garnering praise from the vocaliser Lorde who described "Sex" equally "messy and emotional and twitchy and kind of in honey and definitely every bit freaked out as that state of affairs feels."[5] [half-dozen] Billboard live streamed "Drugs" on Facebook and released the single exclusively on their platform a day before than the worldwide release.[7]

The songs "Fumes", "Circles" and "XO" are updated versions of songs released nether his old allonym The Eden Project. The remastered version of "Fumes" features a collaboration with American musician Gnash. EDEN has stated that the EP "is more of a realization than a journey", while too noting that "the songs are all intertwined, but in different ways."[1]

Promotion [edit]

In July 2016, there were reports of mysterious packages containing a virtual reality head set being sent to EDEN fans.[viii] It was later revealed that the headsets were included in the VIP packages for the Futurebound bout.[9] On vii September 2016, a 360-degree music video for "Drugs" was released.[10] [11]

I Retrieve You lot Remember Too Much of Me was supported by the Futurebound Bout, which featured 33 performances in North America and Europe.[12] [xiii]

Music videos [edit]

Three music videos were released for this album. The video for "Sex" was uploaded onto YouTube on 14 June 2016. The video takes place in Tokyo, Nihon and Sydney, Australia.[fourteen] The music video for "Drugs" was filmed in Los Angeles[xv] and was released through YouTube on 18 August 2016. A 2nd music video was released every bit a 360 degree virtual reality feel on 7 September 2016. The music video for "Rock + Ringlet" was filmed primarily at the Wild Atlantic Manner and in South County Dublin, Republic of ireland and was released on 4 October 2016.
